Ice Climbing Season is Here

Posted on January 21, 2020 in Climbing

The spouse is a big climber. She loves to rock climb, boulder, and ice climb. I suck at all of it, but I do enjoy the ice climbing because it gives my hands something to hold onto and makes the Winter more enjoyable. We got out a couple of weeks ago for the first time this season and the first time in 2020. We went to a location called the Hatchery near Parlee Brook, which is just outside of Sussex, NB. In the Poley Mountain area if you are familiar. We had a few other friends from Moncton there too, although the day trip was shortened by two of them due to falling through the ice in a small brook and one person got soaked in ice cold water. Two of them headed back out and forfeited the day. Three of us remained and practiced on the ice and had a good first day out.

Looks like I cut off Mike's head in the image. The website image template is not the best shape for the vertically aligned image. I don't normally take photos aligned in that orientation.
